First Day at the Market

Today was my first time working at the iHeart market and it was a great experience as I got to meet new clients ,friendly entrepreneurs and also had people wanting my partner Zoe and I to make jewellery for them. We managed to sell at least one piece ,I mean it's better than nothing. It was more of gaining an experience today of how things are seen for market days with the set ups, items people want which were more rings and filigree earrings as well as engaging with new clients.

This is an image Zoe took of me when I was not ready.

The set up we had for the iHeart even to represent the hand-made jewellery by the DUT Students

I took this picture to show my sister the dogs someone had at the market, since she is a lover of Huskeys

This is one of our new friends at the market, her name is Margie ,she would like someone to make something like this for her

This was a random picture of what I found interesting to do as an activity ,it's a ziplining course ...I took this while waiting to go home...it's a beautiful scenery

iHeart Market Curation

Today as 4th years, my colleagues helped me out with the display for the iHeart market as I am the coordinator this year for the market. We decided to each display the  pieces in our own way to give variety options together with commentary for each display. This is how the curation went today:

The first layout was done by Homeboy where he felt not everything is needed to be presented which I agree but feel like his display of the rings and earrings were too busy as well as the display being too flat. Otherwise it is in a way visually pleasing of a treasury look.

Ayanda has a neat way of presentational wise although her display was also flat in display wise. She had more of an appealing way of having to display earrings.

My presentation..My presentation looks more three-dimensional although I feel my display for the neck pieces could be better but other than that I was quiet pleased with the outcome display.

Patterned Ring:

I have been elected to hold the iHeart market this year where I represent DUT students and sell their talented jewellery pieces at the Sugar Rush Park,Balito market held at the beginning of every month. As I was working with the pricing on the jewellery pieces when I came across a ring that I really adored.

Sterling Silver,blackened,Pierced(patternated) ring
The details on this ring together with the contrast of the black with silver makes the piece more appealing to the eye..the fact that it was black was a bonus for me since I love the colour black.
